Spin Productions (“Spin VFX,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose Personal Information that we obtain through our website (spinvfx.com) (our “Site”).

1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

1.1 Information we collect from you

Spin VFX may from time to time ask you to provide us with certain Personal Information. You may provide such information when you:

  • Complete forms on our Site (such as application forms for employment opportunities)
  • Upload information on our Site, or
  • Provide information to us through other channels

The Personal Information we may collect directly from you includes:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • Resume information, including but not limited to employment history and education history
  • Remuneration information, such as your desired remuneration and remuneration history
  • Professional and personal references

1.2 Information we collect automatically

Website and Log Data

When you access our Site, certain information is automatically transmitted to us and stored in “log files”. In particular, the following information is stored in log files:

  • Name of the retrieved files and/or information
  • Date, time and duration of the retrieval
  • The volume of data transmitted
  • Referrer URL (the last website visited)
  • HTTP status code
  • Device type (user interface string, e.g., iOS, Android, operating system used)

This information is collected to provide and run our Site, ensure technical operation, identify and resolve issues, and investigate criminal offences. In some cases, this information may be shared with investigating authorities. This information is stored separately from all other Personal Information about you.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to enhance how you interact with our Site. Google Analytics provides web analytics services to track, monitor and report website traffic through collection of pseudonymous (i.e., de-identified) data about each visitor to our Site. Information collected may include:

We do not use your Personal Information except as described in this Privacy Policy, or otherwise with your consent.

4. STORAGE AND SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We are committed to your privacy and security, and place a very high value on your trust. For this reason, we use reasonable and appropriate technical, physical and administrative safeguards to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized disclosure or access, alteration and destruction. Therefore, while we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us or from us, and you do so at your own risk.

Spin VFX requires third parties to take commercially reasonable steps to protect your Personal Information, to use it only for the required purpose and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

5. RETENTION AND DISPOSAL OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Spin VFX retains your Personal Information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. When your information is no longer required, we will take steps to have the information deleted, destroyed, or anonymized.

6. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

If you are a resident of Canada, subject to applicable laws, we may have certain obligations and you may have certain rights with respect to your Personal Information.

This includes the right to access and correct your Personal Information, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent to the communication or use of your Personal Information.

Access

We permit the reasonable right of access to your Personal Information. Upon written request (and authentication of identity if required), we will provide you with access to your Personal Information under our control, subject to any legal requirements and applicable exceptions to the right of access. Where an access request is refused, we will notify you in writing and provide our rationale for refusal along with a list of next steps available to you.

Correction

If you demonstrate the inaccuracy or incompleteness of Personal Information under our control, we will amend the information as required by applicable law. 

If you wish to update Personal Information about you that is under our control—for example, after a change of address—you are responsible for contacting us to update that information.

Withdrawal of Consent

Individuals have the right to withdraw their consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of Personal Information at any time, except where that withdrawal would frustrate the performance of a legal obligation by us.  Upon reasonable written notice given to us, all Personal Information held by us that is identifiable to that individual will be removed from our records and a notice of the impact of that removal will be provided to the individual.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you withdraw consent we nonetheless reserve the right to retain, collect, use and disclose Personal Information without your consent where we are permitted or required by applicable law to do so.

Additional Rights for Residents of Quebec

Under certain circumstances and subject to applicable data protection laws, you may also be entitled to request additional information regarding our data governance practices, including details regarding what information is collected about you, the categories of persons who have access to your information, and how long your information will be retained for. You may also be entitled to request that we cease communicating your information, or de-index any hyperlink attached your name that provides access to your Personal Information by a technological means.

7. DATA TRANSFERS

The information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of the jurisdiction where you reside. While such information is outside of your jurisdiction of residence, it is subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held, and may be subject to disclosure to the governments, courts or law enforcement or regulatory agencies of such other jurisdiction, pursuant to its laws.

Our Site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of third parties. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for these third parties. We encourage you to read all applicable privacy policies.

For our social media pages on third party social media networks, the terms of use and policies of the social networks also apply.  We assume no liability for the social networks’ acts.

9. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

The current version of this Privacy Policy will apply each time you utilize our Site. Spin VFX reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. By continuing to use our Site after such changes are in effect, you accept and agree to the changes.
