2019 SAKE Awards
This past Saturday, we held the 6th annual Spin Awards for Creative Excellence (SAKE) 2019 gala in downtown Toronto, where we celebrated our outstanding achievements of the past year.
It was an exceptionally competitive year that included campaign videos in the lead up to the awards, and only minimal mud-slinging on the campaign trail.
In a year that has included the opening of our Atlanta studio, the expansion of the Toronto studio, the addition of the Spin Scanning Truck, and an Emmy nomination for The Umbrella Academy, there was no shortage of deserving award-winners.
President Neishaw Ali handed out more SAKE awards than ever with 15 winning teams and individuals. Categories included Rising Star, Innovative Achievement in VFX, and Team of the Year.
This year, the SAKE awards themselves were designed, sculpted, 3D printed and bronzed by our very own Creature Department, proving that Spin creative talent goes further than the screen!
With huge door prizes handed out by CFO Kenny Girdharry, pride-swelling reels showing our work from the past year, and a team that loves to party, it was a one of the most memorable nights of an already memorable year.
