Senior VFX Producer, Sasha Racette, began her journey into film as a teenager working at a local movie theatre, where her love for storytelling took root. Her father’s playful “Spot the Mistakes” game during movie nights further deepened her fascination with the art of filmmaking.
After studying International Business with a focus on Marketing, Sasha joined MPC, initially aspiring to work in advertising. Instead, she found herself drawn to film production, beginning as a runner before quickly rising to Department Producer within a year and a half. In that role, she oversaw animation projects, managed schedules and resourcing, and mentored interns. Her early credits include The Hunger Games, followed by Justice League, The Darkest Minds, and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Collaborating with acclaimed filmmakers such as Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper in American Sniper remains a highlight of her career.
In 2018, Sasha joined SpinVFX as a Show Production Manager on Asteroid Hunters before being promoted to VFX Producer shortly thereafter. Since then, her credits include the Emmy-nominated Raising Dion and The Expanse. Following her promotion to Senior VFX Producer, she worked on projects such as Big George Foreman, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado and the upcoming Lanterns Season 1, among others.
Outside of her responsibilities as Senior VFX Producer, Sasha is also deeply committed to giving back to the film and television community. In 2024, she led the HBO and MediaWorks VFX Coordinator Training Program, where she mentored 16 aspiring producers, two of whom went on to join Spin’s team.
In her spare time, she helps run a dog rescue, finding loving homes for Texas dogs in Toronto. She also loves to travel and spend quality time with her husband and their son, Grayson.
