CMU students enjoy an exclusive SpinVFX Studio Experience in Toronto!
The students of the College of Makeup Art and Design (CMU College) recently embarked on an exhilarating journey into the world of cinematic enchantment with an exclusive visit to SpinVFX’s Toronto studio. The tour was a captivating blend of education and inspiration, providing aspiring makeup and design artists with a firsthand look at the intricate processes that bring movie magic to life.
One of the highlights of the visit was a MasterClass led by the renowned SimonLee, a seasoned expert in the field and SpinVFX’s Creature Art Director. The students were not only enthralled by his insights into the art of sculpting and creature design but also had the unique opportunity to interact with and learn from a true industry luminary.
The immersive experience continued with a hands-on tour through the various departments of the CG pipeline, allowing the students to witness the behind-the-scenes magic that transforms a script into a mesmerizing cinematic masterpiece. The workshop covered the entire spectrum of filmmaking, from script to screen, and delved into the complexities of creature design, hair styling, and makeup development.
As the students explored the anatomy of creature creation and the nuances of bringing characters to life, they gained valuable insights into the importance of teamwork and collaboration in the filmmaking process. The tour not only expanded their technical knowledge but also fueled their passion for the art of makeup and character design in the context of storytelling.
